Driving Bonus: About your mirrors

MasterTrack Lesson

Not everyone uses their mirrors properly when driving their normal vehicle. In an RV, the mirrors are your gateway to what’s happening outside the coach and around you. They are your main data collection points. Without them, you are blind to your surroundings and can easily cause damage or accidents. You will look at your mirrors at least 1/3 of the time you spend driving.

How to set your mirrors:

Flat mirrors: Adjust so you can see 1 inch of the coach down the inside of each mirror. The adjustment is usually on the dash or the side arm control panel.

Convex mirrors: These are fixed mirrors but can be adjusted by having them moved manually from outside. Adjust them as far out and as far down as possible so you can still see the horizon as well as the side of the RV (just enough).
